The Drake Bulldogs and the Missouri State Bears meet in college basketball action from the JQH Arena on Tuesday night.

The Drake Bulldogs take the floor for the first time in over three weeks due to COVID issues in the program, with their last matchup resulting in an 86-55 win over Southern Illinois that pushed Drake to 13-0 straight up and 11-0 ATS on the year. ShanQuan Hemphill leads the Bulldogs in scoring with 14.2 PPG along with 5.2 RPG while Roman Penn is 2nd in scoring and tops in assists with 12.1 PPG and 5.8 APG this season. D.J. Wilkins has 11.3 PPG to make up the trio of double-digit scorers for Drake coming into this matchup while Darnell Brodie is Drake’s top rebounding threat with 6.5 RPG this season. As a team, Drake is averaging 83.9 PPG on 53.5% shooting from the field, 43% from 3-point range and 70.8% from the foul line while allowing opposing teams to average 59.9 PPG on 38.8% from 3-point range and 31.9% from the 3-point line this season.

The Missouri State Bears will look to add to their 9-1 record on the year after a 94-49 win over Missouri S&T last time out. Isiaih Mosley leads the Bears in scoring with 23.5 PPG along with 5.5 RPG and 3.4 APG and Gaige Prim has 16.7 PPG with team-highs of 8.8 RPG and 3.7 APG this season. Ja’Monta Black has 13.1 PPG with 2.3 APG to make up the group of double-digit scorers for Missouri State coming into this game. As a team, Missouri State is averaging 81.3 PPG on 50.7% shooting from the field, 35.4% from 3-point range and 71.9% from the foul line while allowing opposing teams to average 67.7 PPG on 39% shooting from the field and 32.9% from 3-point range this season.

I’ve been as high on anyone as Drake this year and it’s paid off handsomely with an 11-0 ATS record. However, the line is this low for a reason as Missouri State poses the greatest threat to date for the Bulldogs’ unbeaten streak. Drake was rolling along before COVID hit the program and coming into this one cold after a three-week layoff against a Missouri State team that’s up to the task and have been playing more regularly over that span is a tall ask. I’m not rushing anywhere to bet this game, but if forced to pick, I’d want the points in my pocket.
