The Drexel Dragons and the Hofstra Pride meet Saturday in college basketball action from Hofstra Arena.

Drexel enters this one at 7-6 overall. The Dragons are 1-2 in their last three games and coming off a loss to James Madison. As for the Pride, they’re 11-6 so far. Hofstra has won five straight, most recently over UNC Wilmington last weekend. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Drexel started out the season on a 5-2 clip with losses to Pittsburgh and La Salle. Since then the Dragons are just 2-4 however. The two wins came versus William & Mary; the losses came to Charleston (twice), William & Mary and James Madison.

In the 73-64 loss to the Dukes on Sunday, Drexel’s Camren Wynter carried the team on 29 points with six rebounds and three assists. Also in double-figures there was Zach Walton with 15 points, five rebounds and one assist in 34 minutes for the Dragons.

Over on the Hofstra side, they went 6-3 through their first nine with losses to Rutgers, Iona and St. Bonaventure. After three more wins, the Pride lost three straight versus Northeastern and Delaware before taking five straight wins over Delaware, Towson and UNC Wilmington.

In the 89-83 win over UNC Wilmington on Sunday, Hofstra’s Isaac Kante put up 21 points with five rebounds, and Kvonn Cramer doubled up with 17 points and 11 boards. Jalen Ray added 18 points with four rebounds and two assists in 37 minutes for the Pride as well.

The Pride are 1-6 ATS in their last seven home games and 13-4 ATS in their last 17 after an ATS win. Hofstra is 12-3 ATS in their last 15 Saturday games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 overall.

Meanwhile, the Dragons are 4-0 ATS in their last four Saturday games and 5-14-1 ATS in their last 20 road games. Drexel is 5-1 ATS in their last six after a straight-up loss and the over is 9-3 in their last 12 road games.

PICK: I’m going to stay with Hofstra here. The Pride had some scoring issues during their three-game losing streak last month, notching 56 points in two of those. Things have been better for Hofstra’s offense since then: 68 or more in each of their last five games. I like Drexel to hang around for a while here, but if the Pride get into rhythm it’s going to be hard to catch them.
