The Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles and the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks meet Saturday in college basketball action from Elam Center.

Tennessee Tech is 2-17 this season. The Eagles have dropped four straight and are coming off a loss to Southeast Missouri State in their last game. As for Tennessee-Martin, they’re 5-11 this year. The Skyhawks have lost consecutive games to SIU Edwardsville and Jacksonville State. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Tennessee Tech started out their season on an ugly 0-9 skid before managing a win over Southeast Missouri State. After four more losses the Eagles beat Tennessee Tech, but have since fallen to Austin Peay, Murray State, Morehead State and SEMO.

In the 68-64 loss to Southeast Missouri State, Tennessee Tech’s Kenny White and Damaria Franklin each notched 14 points, combining for six assists and five boards. Keishawn Davidson added 13 points with six boards and five assists as well.

Over on the Tennessee-Martin side, they began at 3-0 with wins over Evansville, Bethel TN and Southeast Missouri State. After nine straight losses, the Skyhawks beat SEMO and Eastern Illinois before falling to SIU Edwardsville and Jacksonville State.

In the 82-70 loss to Jacksonville State on Thursday, UT-Martin’s Jaron Williams put up 21 points with three assists and two rebounds. Kenton Eskridge put up 16 points with six rebounds and six assists, and Eman Sertovic had 13 points with two assists and one rebound.

The Skyhawks are 0-5 ATS in their last five Saturday games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games. UT-Martin is 2-8 ATS in their last 10 overall and the under is 4-1 in their last five home games.

Meanwhile, the Eagles are 5-0-1 ATS in their last six road games and 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven Saturday games. Tennessee Tech is 4-1 ATS in their last five overall and the under is 4-1 in the last five road games.

PICK: I’m going to take a shot on Tennessee Tech here. Granted, there’s not much intrigue involved in a game featuring teams with a combined seven wins, but this one should be a pretty competitive matchup. The Golden Eagles have put up a few good offensive performances this year against comparable teams, and I think they’ll have some room to score here. It may be a sloppy game but I think Tennessee Tech can power it out.
