The Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils and the Alabama State Hornets meet in college basketball action from the Dunn-Oliver Acadome on Monday night.

Keiondre Jefferson leads the Delta Devils in scoring and rebounding with 15.3 PPG and 10.3 RPG through his 3 games while Terry Collins has 12.2 PPG and 2.5 APG and Caleb Hunter has 11.6 PPG with 2.7 APG to lead the Delta Devils in assists this year. As a team, Mississippi Valley State is averaging 55.6 PPG on 34.5% shooting from the field, 31.3% from the 3-point line and 58.8% from the foul line while allowing 93.4 PPG on 51% shooting from the field and 37.6% from the 3-point line this season.
The Alabama State Hornets will look to build on a 73-67 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff last time out. Brandon Battle leads the Hornets in scoring and rebounding with 10.4 PPG and 7.4 RPG as the lone Alabama State player to score in double figures for Alabama State so far this season. Kenny Strawbridge is 2nd in scoring with 9.5 PPG along with 7.3 RPG while Kevion Stewart has 8.8 PPG and DJ Heath has 8.2 PPG and a team-high 2.3 APG this season. Mississippi Valley State is 2-6 ATS in their last 8 road games and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games overall while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games against a team with a losing record. Alabama State is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 home games while the over is 6-1 in their last 7 games against a team with a losing record.
I’m around to talk if anyone feels the need to bet on this dumpster fire of a game. However, for the sake of a pick, Alabama State’s played the better teams in the conference pretty well, but Mississippi Valley State only lost by 13 in the first meeting. The issue is that MVSU is giving up points by the boatload no matter who is on the other side. I’ll side with the over as I think this one could easily get over the number but again. There are better options on the board… like you know… any other game on the board.
