The Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Minnesota Golden Gophers meet Monday in college basketball action from Williams Arena.

Nebraska comes in here at 4-9 so far. The Cornhuskers are 0-6 in their last six and coming off a loss to Michigan State. As for Minnesota, they’re 11-7 this year. The Gophers have lost their last three games, most recently to Rutgers. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Nebraska began their year at 4-3 with wins over McNeese, North Dakota State, South Dakota and Doane. Since then it’s been a string of six losses, however. Those have come versus Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio State, Michigan State, Indiana and Michigan State again.

In the 66-56 loss to Michigan State on Saturday, Nebraska’s Trey McGowens led the wagon 13 points with four rebounds and three assists. The only other team player in double-figures there was Lat Mayden with 10 points and four boards.
Over on the Minnesota side, they went 9-1 in their first 10 games with a lone loss to Illinois. Since then the Gophers are just 2-6, beating Ohio State and Michigan while otherwise falling to Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, Maryland, Purdue and Rutgers in that stretch.

In the 76-72 loss to Rutgers on Thursday, Minnesota’s Marcus Carr put up 18 points with six rebounds and seven assists. Liam Robbins added 16 points with 10 rebounds and three assists, and both Brandon Johnson and Jamal Mashburn Jr. chipped in 10 points apiece.

The Gophers are 6-1 ATS in their last seven home games and 3-8-2 ATS in their last 13 after an ATS win. The under is 7-2 in Minnesota’s last nine overall and 4-0 in their last four home games.

Meanwhile, the Cornhuskers are 0-7 ATS in their last seven after an ATS win and 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games. Nebraska is 7-17 ATS in their last 24 overall and 7-1 ATS in their last eight Monday games.

PICK: I’m sticking with Minnesota. Neither of these teams has looked great lately as they wade through a tough Big Ten gauntlet, though. Nebraska has been held below 70 points in four of their last six outings and given up 80 or more points in four of their last five. Minnesota has been tepid on offense themselves lately, but the Gophers should have enough scoring talent to push through a cover here.
