Lafayette vs Loyola-Maryland College Basketball Picks, Odds, Predictions 2/13/21

The Loyola Greyhounds and the Lafayette Leopards meet Saturday in college basketball action from Kirby Sports Center. 

Loyola enters this matchup at 1-6 so far. The Greyhounds are 1-1 in their last two games and coming off a loss to Lafayette on Monday. As for the Leopards, they’re 6-4 this season. Loyola hasn’t had much luck in the limited time they’ve spent on the court this year. The Greyhounds lost twice to Lafayette, twice to American and once to Navy in their first five games, then beat Lafayette on February 7. Monday’s game was a four-point loss to the Leopards. 

In the 80-76 loss to Lafayette on Monday, Loyola’s Santi Aldama led the team on 30 points with 10 rebounds and four assists. Jaylin Andrews added 15 points with four assists, and Kenny Jones had 12 points with three rebounds and one assist. 

Over on the Lafayette side, they fell to Lehigh in their opener but then took wins in their next five versus Lehigh, Bucknell and Loyola MD. The Leopards lost to Boston U and Loyola in their next three, but got the revenge win on Monday in the rematch. 

In the win Monday over Loyola, Lafayette’s Justin Jaworski put up 28 points with three rebounds and two assists. Kyle Jenkins added 20 points with six boards and three assists’ nd Neal Quinn had 16 points with seven assists and six rebounds. 

The Leopards are 14-5-1 ATS in their last 20 versus a team with a winning percentage below .400 and 10-4 ATS in their last 14 as an underdog. The over is 5-1 in Lafayette’s last six home games as well. 

Meanwhile, the Greyhounds are 1-5 ATS in their last six overall and 41-20 ATS in their last 61 Saturday games. The over is 4-1 in Loyola’s last five road games and 7-3 in their last 10 road games versos a team with a winning home record.

PICK: I’m going to take Loyola in this one. If nothing else, these teams know each other well. They’ve played four times already with Lafayette taking three of those. That said, the Greyhounds have notched 70 or more points in every one of those outings. This one should be another higher-scoring affair but I like Loyola to keep the pace and bang out a cover.
