The Evansville Aces and the Drake Bulldogs meet in college basketball action from the Knapp Center on Sunday afternoon.

The Evansville Aces will be out to rebound from an 87-73 loss to Indiana State in their last game. Jawaun Newton leads the Aces in scoring with 13.1 PPG and 3.9 APG while Shamar Givance has 12.3 PPG with 4 RPG and a team-high 4.2 APG to lead Evansville in assists. Noah Frederking has 11.4 PPG to make up the trio of double-digit scorers for Evansville up to this point in the year while Samari Curtis has 9.8 PPG and Jon Levitch has a team-high 5.1 RPG this season to lead the Aces on the glass. As a team, Evansville is averaging 64.5 PPG on 43.3% shooting from the field, 37.7% from 3-point land and 72.7% from the foul line while allowing 68.8 PPG on 50.5% shooting from the field and 39.9% from 3-point land this season.

The Drake Bulldogs will look to build off of a 77-69 win over Northern Iowa last time out. ShanQuan Hemphill has 14.1 PPG with 6.3 RPG to lead Drake in scoring and rebounding while Roman Penn has 11.5 PPG with a team-high 5.6 APG to lead the Bulldogs in the assist department on the year. Tremell Murphy, D.J. Wilkins and Joseph Yesufu all have 9 PPG for the Bulldogs this season with Murphy logging 9.9 PPG and 4.9 RPG on the year. As a team, Drake is averaging 78.7 PPG on 49.3% shooting from the field, 36.4% from 3-point land and 70.9% from the foul line while allowing 63.4 PPG on 40.7% shooting from the field and 30.5% from 3-point range this season.

Evansville is 5-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 games as an underdog while the over is 6-0 in their last 6 road games. Drake is 42-16-2 ATS in their last 60 home games and 55-27-2 ATS in their last 84 games overall while the over is 6-2 in their last 7 games following a win. The home team is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings between these two teams.

I know Evansville’s been on a nice run lately and the word overrated is being thrown at Drake, but I’m not ready to write off the Bulldogs so easily. This Bulldogs team’s been solid up to this point in the year that truthfully there’s not much reason to hop off of them, especially at home. I just think you’re getting a decent number with Drake at home, so I’ll lay it and play it with the Bulldogs here
