UConn kicked off the year at 7-1 but then hit a 1-4 skid with losses to St. John’s, Creighton, Seton Hall and Providence. Since then the Huskies are 2-1 with a pair of wins over Xavier and Providence ahead of a loss to Villanova in their last game on Saturday.
In the 68-60 loss to Villanova, UConn’s James Bouknight put up 21 points with 10 rebounds and one assist. RJ Cole added 10 points with two assists and one rebound, and Tyrese Martin added 11 rebounds with nine points in 34 minutes.
Over on the Georgetown side, their year began at 3-8 before a layoff in the latter half of January. Since then the Hoyas have gone 4-2, losing to Villanova and Creighton while otherwise taking wins over Providence, Creighton, Butler and Seton Hall.
In the 81-75 win over Seton Hall on Saturday, Georgetown’s Jamorko Pickett led the way on 20 points with seven rebounds and three assists. Chudier Bile added 16 points with three rebounds, and Qudus Wahab doubled up on 11 points with 11 rebounds.
Georgetown is 5-1 ATS in their last six home games and 6-1 ATS in their last seven overall. The Hoyas are 1-4 ATS in their last five Tuesday games and the over is 5-1 in their last six overall.
Meanwhile, the Huskies are 6-1 ATS in their last seven Tuesday games and 10-3-1 ATS in their last 14 overall. The under is 4-1 in the Huskies’ last five Tuesday games and 7-3 in their last 10 as a favorite.
PICK: I like Georgetown in this one. The Huskies have put up some pretty good numbers offensively over the last three games, posting 73 or more points in two of them. That said, Georgetown has hit 74 or more in five of their last six outings, and they’ve gone up against some tough teams lately. This should be a really good matchup, and I like the Hoyas to eke out a cover.
