Louisville vs Notre Dame College Basketball Picks, Odds, Predictions 2/23/21

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Louisville Cardinals meet Tuesday in college basketball action from KFC Yum! Center. 

Notre Dame is 9-11 overall this season. The Irish are 2-1 in their last three games and coming off a loss to Syracuse. As for Louisville, they’re sitting at 11-5 so far. Notre Dame was sitting at 3-8 back in mid-January but they’ve been on a 6-3 run since then. The wins in that stretch were over Boston College, Miami, Pittsburgh, Wake Forest and Duke. The Losses came versus Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech and Syracuse. 

In the 75-67 loss to Syracuse on Saturday, Notre Dame’s Trey Wertz put up 17 points with three rebounds and three assists. Dane Goodwin added 13 points with five rebounds and two assists, and Nate Laszewski doubled up on 11 points with 12 rebounds. 

Over on the Louisville side, they managed to go 9-1 in their first 10 games before a pair of losses to Miami and Florida State. Since then the Cardinals are 2-2 with wins over Duke and Georgia Tech alongside losses to Clemson and North Carolina in that time. 

In the 99-54 loss to North Carolina, Louisville’s Carlik Jones was the only team player in double-figures scoring with 13 points and one rebound. Samuell Williamson added 10 rebounds with nine points and a pair of assists as well. 

Louisville is 0-5 ATS in their last five games as an underdog and 19-7-2 ATS in their last 28 Tuesday games. The Cardinals are 5-1 ATS in their last six after an ATS loss and the under is 4-1-1 in their last six Tuesday games. 

Meanwhile, the Irish are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games and 5-1 ATS in their last six overall. Notre Dame is 7-0-1 ATS in their last eight Tuesday games and the under is 6-2 in their last eight overall. 

PICK: I’m going to stick with Notre Dame. The Irish had a dud offensive game against Syracuse in their last outing, but overall they’ve been scoring pretty well lately with 71 or more points in four of their last five games. Louisville is a solid scoring team themselves when they’re on, but they’ve been at 54 or fewer points in two of their last three. I like the Cardinals to hang around in this one for a while, with Notre Dame eventually pulling away on a cover.
