The St. John’s Red Storm and the Villanova Wildcats meet Tuesday in college basketball action from the Pavilion.

St. John’s enters this one at 14-9 so far. The Red Storm are 1-2 in their last three games and coming off a loss to DePaul. As for Villanova, they’re 14-3 this year. The Wildcats are 3-1 in their last four games and coming off a win over UConn. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

St. John’s was sitting at 7-7 back on January 16, but then the team hit a nice six-game win streak versus UConn, Utah Valley, DePaul, Marquette, Villanova and Providence. Since then it’s been a win over Xavier and losses to Butler and DePaul.

In the 88-83 loss to DePaul on Saturday, St. John’s leading scorer was Julian Champagnie with 29 points, seven rebounds and one assist. Isaih Moore added 16 points with six rebounds, and Dylan Addae-Wusu put up 13 points with four rebounds and two assists.
Over on the Villanova side, they had an 8-1 run going before a long layoff at the end of December. Since returning the Wildcats are 6-2 with victories over Seton Hall, Providence, Seton Hall again, Georgetown, Marquette and UConn in that stretch.

In the 68-60 win over UConn, Villanova’s Collin Gillespie put up 20 points with six rebounds and two assists. Jeremiah Robinson-Earl posted a double-double in that one, notching 17 points and 11 rebounds in 36 minutes on the floor for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats are 6-2 ATS in their last eight Tuesday games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five overall. Villanova is 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 home games and the over is 8-3 in their last 11 overall.

Meanwhile, the Red Storm are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games and 9-2 ATS in their last 11 overall. St. John’s is 10-22-1 ATS in their last 33 Tuesday games and the over is 4-0 in their last four overall.

PICK: I’m going to stick with St. John’s here. The Wildcats have been on a nice run over their last four games, with 68 or more points in each and only one bad game mixed in there (the 86-70 loss to Creighton). St. John’s has been scoring well themselves however, with 69 or more points in each of their last 12. This should be a pretty great matchup, and I think the Storm can pull off a cover.
