The Kent State Golden Flashes and the Ball State Cardinals meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Worthen Arena.

Kent State comes in here at 7-4 overall. The Flashes snapped a four-game win streak with a loss to Toledo in their last outing. As for Ball State, they’re 6-7 this year. The Cardinals have lost consecutive games to Miami-OH and Ohio. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Kent State began their year on a 3-1 run with a loss to Virginia. After losses to Akron and Toledo, Kent State won four in a item over Western Michigan, Central Michigan, Ohio and Buffalo before falling to Toledo in their last outing on Saturday.

In the 76-74 loss to the Rockets, Kent State’s Mike Nuga put up 19 points with three rebounds and one assist. Danny Pippen added 17 points with 12 rebounds and four assists, and Tervell Beck managed 16 points, seven rebounds and one assist in 32 minutes of action.

Over on the Ball State side, they opened up their season at 3-3 with losses to Northern Kentucky, Michigan and Indiana State. After going 1-2 over their next three games the Cardinals beat Bowling Green and Northern Illinois before falling to Miami-OH and Ohio.

In the 85-77 loss to the Bobcats on Saturday, Ball State’s Ishmael El-Amin put up 21 points with four rebounds and five assists. Luke Bumbalough added 11 points in 33 minutes, and Kani Acree chipped in 10 points with five boards and two assists.

Ball State is 11-4 ATS in their last 15 home games and 5-1 ATS in their last six Tuesday games. The over is 16-5 in the Cardinals’ last 21 overall and 6-0 in their last six home games.

Meanwhile, the Flashes are 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. Kent State is 5-1 ATS in their last six after a straight-up loss and the over is 10-4 in their last 14 games overall.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Kent State here. You could probably make a case either way when it comes to this matchup, though; it should be a good game. Anyhow, the Flashes have been scoring well for most of the season and they’ve hit 74 or more in each of their last six games. Ball State has scored well themselves, notching 71 or more in each of their last four. I like this one to be a higher-scoring shootout, with Kent State eking out a cover late in a fun one to watch.
