St. Francis-Pennsylvania vs Mount St. Mary’s College Basketball Picks, Odds, Predictions 2/25/21

The Mount St. Mary’s Mountaineers and the Saint Francis PA Red Flash meet Thursday in college basketball action from DeGol Arena. 

Mount St. Mary’s enters this one at 9-10 so far. The Mountaineers are 1-3 in their last four and coming off a win over Fairleigh Dickinson. As for Saint Francis, they’re 6-15 this year. Mount St. Mary’s had a three-game win streak going in mid-February that left them at 8-7 on the season. The Mountaineers have fallen below .500 since then, falling twice to Wagner and once to Fairleigh Dickinson before getting a win over the Knights on Sunday. 

In the 74-61 win over Fairleigh Dickinson, Mount St. Mary’s Mezie Offurum led the way on 22 points with 13 rebounds and three assists. Nana Opoku added 16 points with three boards, and Damian Chong Qui put up 14 points with 11 rebounds. 

Over on the St. Francis side, they’ve had a pretty rough year so far and have only been able to win consecutive games once. Over the last seven, the Red Flash have lost to Central CT State, Merrimack, St. Francis BK and Wagner. 

In the 70-68 loss to Wagner on Sunday, Saint Francis’ Ramiir Dixon-Conover led the team with 20 points, 11 rebounds and six assists. Ronnell Giles added 13 points with three assists, and Josh Cohen put up 12 points with seven boards. 

The Red Flash are 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games and 0-6 ATS in their last six after an ATS win. St. Francis is 5-15 ATS in the last 20 games overall and the under is 5-1 in their last six overall.
Meanwhile, the Mountaineers are 5-14-1 ATS in their last 20 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five as a road underdog. Mount St. Mary’s is 1-4 ATS in their last five as a road favorite and the under is 12-3 in their last 15 overall.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Mount St. Mary’s, but there’s not a lot to like about this matchup. In any case, the Mountaineers took a 75-57 victory the last time these teams met up way back on December 8. Mount St. Mary’s has scored pretty well over their last couple of games, and if they can get off to a nice start in this one I think the cover should be there.
