The Oregon Ducks and the Stanford Cardinal meet Thursday in college basketball action from Maples Pavilion.

Oregon enters this game at 14-5 so far. The Ducks had a five-game win streak snapped by USC in their last outing. As for Stanford, they’re 14-9 this year. The Cardinal are 2-2 in their last four games and coming off a loss to Washington State. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Oregon opened up the year with a nice 8-1 run, but then lost three of their next four games to Colorado, Oregon State and Washington State. The Ducks regrouped with victories in their next five games, but then fell to USC in their last outing on Monday.

In the 72-58 blowout loss to USC, Oregon’s LJ Figueroa and Eric Williams each notched 14 points, combining for 14 rebounds as well. Chris Duarte also finished in double-figures for the Ducks with 11 points, five rebounds and four assists.
Over on the Stanford side, their year began on an 8-3 run, but then the team lost four of their next six to Utah, Colorado, Arizona State and USC. Since then the Cardinal have gotten better results on a 4-2 run. The losses in that time were to Colorado and Washington State.

In the 85-76 triple-overtime loss to Washington State on Saturday, Stanford’s Michael O’Connell put up 17 points with seven assists and six rebounds. Jaiden Delaire added 15 points with two rebounds and one assist, and Oscar da Silva put up 11 points with six assists and five boards.

Stanford is 12-4-1 ATS in their last 17 at home versus a team with a winning road record and 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 as a home underdog. The under is 4-0 in Stanford’s last four Thursday games and the over is 6-1 in their last seven home games.

Meanwhile, the Ducks are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 as an underdog and 31-15 ATS in their last 46 versus a team with a winning straight-up record. The under is 5-0 in the Ducks’ last five overall and 7-3 in their last 10 road games.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Oregon. The last time these teams met up back on January 2, the Ducks notched a 73-56 blowout win. Both teams shot over 40 percent from the floor in that one, but the Cardinal hit just three of 18 from 3-point range and coughed up 19 turnovers. Stanford even had a slim halftime lead, but couldn’t keep up the rest of the way. This should be another great game, but I like Oregon to power out the cover/win.
