The Fort Wayne Mastodons and the Green Bay Phoenix meet Friday in college basketball action from Kress Events Center.

Fort Wayne enters this one at 6-5 so far. The Mastodons have won four straight games and are coming off a victory over Milwaukee. As for Green Bay, they’re sitting at 3-11 this season. The Phoenix have lost consecutive games to Detroit in their last pair. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Fort Wayne began their year with a 1-3 run, beating Southeastern LA prior to a losing streak. The Mastodons went 1-2 in their next three, then hit a four-game win streak. Those victories came courtesy of UIC (twice) and Milwaukee (twice).

In the 81-74 win over Milwaukee on Saturday, Fort Wayne’s Jarred Godfrey led the way on 18 points with seven assists and six rebounds. Jalon Pipkins added 16 points with six rebounds and three assists, and Bobby Planutis put up 15 points with three boards and three assists for the Mastodons.

Over on the Green Bay side, they began their season on a nine-game skid versus Minnesota, Wisconsin, Eastern Illinois, Marquette, Milwaukee (twice), Wright State (twice) and Youngstown State. Since then it’s been a 3-2 run for the Phoenix with a pair of losses to Detroit.

In the Saturday loss to the Titans, Green Bay’s Emmanuel Ansong led the team on 16 points with two assists and one rebound. Josh Jefferson added 14 points with three boards and three assists, and Amari Davis had 10 points with two assets and one rebound.

The under is 6-2 in Green Bay’s last eight Friday games and 4-1 in their last five after an ATS win. The Phoenix are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games after an ATS win and 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine Friday games.

Meanwhile, the Mastodons are 5-0 ATS in their last five games overall and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 road games. The under is 25-12-1 in Fort Wayne’s last 38 overall and 13-6-1 in their last 20 road games.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Fort Wayne here. Both of these teams have had rocky seasons so far, but the Mastodons have been scoring well lately. In each of their last four games, the Mastodons have hit 81 points or more. Green Bay had a run of five straight with 77 or more in each themselves, but they hit the wall in the Detroit games with 126 combined. This should be a fun matchup but I like Fort Wayne better on the cover.
