The Western Michigan Broncos and the Toledo Rockets meet Saturday in college basketball action from Savage Arena.
Western Michigan enters this one at 4-14 so far. The Broncos have lost three straight, most recently to Miami-OH. As for Toledo, they’re 18-6 this year. Western Michigan managed just two wins in their first 13 games, but did manage consecutive victories over Bowling Green and Central Michigan this month. Since then it’s been three straight losses to Buffalo, Kent State and Miami-OH, however.
In the 74-66 loss to Miami-OH, Western Michigan’s B. Artis White put up 20 points with seven rebounds and one assist. Greg Lee added 18 points with three rebounds, and Titus Wright had 10 points with 10 boards.
Over on the Toledo side, they stumbled out of the gate at 3-3 but have lost just three games since December 9. Over their last four, the Rockets have two losses to Ball State and Bowling Green along with wins over Miami-OH and Buffalo.
In the 80-70 win over Buffalo, Toledo’s Marreon Jackson put up 20 points with six boards and six assists. Ryan Rollins added 18 points with four rebounds and four assists, and Setric Millner had 17 points with seven boards.
Toledo is 1-4 ATS in their last five Saturday games and 7-2 ATS in their last nine home games. The Rockets are 5-1 ATS in their last six as an underdog and 22-8 ATS in their last 30 overall.
Meanwhile, the Broncos are 2-5 ATS in their last seven after an ATS loss and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 as an underdog. The under is 6-1 in Toledo’s last seven road games and 5-1 in their last six Saturday games.
PICK: I’m going to stick with Toledo. The last time these teams met up, The Rockets secured a 70-59 victory back on January 2. Toledo has been scoring well over their last three games, with 80 or more points in each. Western Michigan will probably be able to hang around for a while here but I think the Rockets power out the cover.
