The Ole Miss Rebels and the Vanderbilt Commodores meet Saturday in college basketball action from Vanderbilt University Memorial Gym.

The Rebels enter this one at 13-9 so far. Ole Miss is 1-1 in their last two games and coming off a win over Missouri. As for Vanderbilt, they’re 6-13 this year. The Commodores have lost three straight, most recently to Tennessee. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Ole Miss started out the year at a nice 4-0, but then they ran into some major trouble with eight losses in their next 12 games. Since then however, the Rebels have gotten into a good rhythm with wins over Tennessee, Auburn, Missouri (twice) and South Carolina in their last six.

In the 60-53 win over Missouri, Ole Miss’ top scorer was Devontae Shule with 14 points and three boards. Romello White, Jarkel Joiner and Luis Rodriguez each notched 10 points, combining for 16 rebounds and six assists as well.

Over on the Vanderbilt side, they’ve certainly had their issues with consistency this year, and the team is yet to win consecutive games. Since their last victory over Mississippi State on February 13, the Commodores have lost to Kentucky, Alabama and Tennessee.

In the 70-58 loss to Tennessee on Wednesday, Vanderbilt’s Trey Thomas put up 14 points with two assists and one rebound. Maxwell Evans added 13 points with four rebounds and three assists, and Issac McBride posted 11 points with two rebounds.

Vanderbilt is 4-0 ATS in their last four Saturday games and 1-0-3 ATS in their last four home games. The Commodores are 5-0-3 ATS in their last eight overall and the over is 11-4 in their last 15 overall.

Meanwhile, the Rebels are 5-1 ATS in their last six overall and 1-4 ATS in their last five as a road favorite. The under is 19-7-1 in Ole Miss’ last 27 overall and 22-6 in their last 28 road games.

PICK: I’m going to take Ole Miss here. I was considering going with Vanderbilt, but with the team banged up due to a few injuries right now it’s a tough sell. The Commodores are going to have a tough time finding scoring, and if Ole Miss gets rolling on offense they’re not going to be able to keep up. Seems like a good spot for the Rebels to bang out a cover.
