American vs Bucknell College Basketball Picks, Odds, Predictions 2/28/21

The Bucknell Bison and the American Eagles meet Sunday in college basketball action from Bender Arena. 

Bucknell enters this one at 4-5 so far. As for American, they’re currently sitting at 3-5. This will be a rematch of Saturday’s game featuring these same teams. In that one, American bagged a seven-point win. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Bucknell hasn’t been able to get on the floor much this season due to a late start and a handful of postponements along the way. The Bison lost their first four games, but then took out Lehigh in four consecutive matchups back in January before another pause. 

In Saturday’s game versus American, Bucknell kept up 35-35 by the break, but fell behind after that in an eventual 78-71 loss. Leading the Bison in scoring was Deuce Turner with 21 points, three rebounds and one assist. 

Over on the American side, they’ve had some limited action this season as well, mostly for the same postponement reasons. The Eagles had a three-game losing streak heading into this weekend, falling twice to Navy and once to Loyola MD in that time. 

In the Saturday victory, Ameircan was able to notch a 43-36 advantage in the second half on the way to a 78-71 win. Topping the team in scoring was Jamir Harris with 19 points, two rebounds and eight assists. 

American is 5-2 ATS in their last seven Sunday games and 6-1 ATS in their last seven as a favorite. The under is 4-1 in the Eagles’ last five Sunday games and 8-3 in their last 11 overall. 

Meanwhile, the Bison are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 Sunday games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games. Bucknell is 6-13 ATS in their last 19 as a road underdog and the under is 6-2 in their last eight Sunday games. 

PICK: I’m going to stick with Bucknell. The Bison had a rough time on the scoreboard when the season first began, but they’d hit 75 points or more in five straight games heading into the weekend. In Saturday’s game featured something of a sluggish second half for Bucknell, and they couldn’t keep the pace. I like the Bison to bounce back and cover here.
