Cincinnati vs Memphis College Basketball Picks, Odds, Predictions 2/28/21

The Memphis Tigers and the Cincinnati Bearcats meet Sunday in college basketball action from Fifth Third Arena. 

Memphis enters this one at 13-6 so far. The Tigers have won four straight, most recently over Tulane. As for Cincinnati, they’re 9-8 this year. The Bearcats have won consecutive games over Tulsa and Tulane. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place. 

Memphis has done a solid job at staying consistent this season, and the team has only lost consecutive games once so far. The Tigers are 7-1 in their last eight games and have beaten UCF (twice), East Carolina and Tulane in their last four outings. 

In the 61-46 win over Tulane, Memphis’ only double-digit scorer was Boogie Ellis with 13 points, five rebounds and two assists. DeAndre Williams chipped in with 11 rebounds, five assists and six points for the Tigers in that one as well. 

Over on the Cincinnati side, they stumbled to a 3-7 record over their first 10 games, but they’ve been doing much better since. The Bearcats are 6-1 in their last seven, taking wins over Temple, Tulane, UCF and Tulsa during that time. 

In the 91-71 win over Tulane on Friday, Cincinnati’s Jeremiah Davenport put up 27 points with five rebounds and five assists to lead the team. Tar Eason added 20 points with 13 rebounds, and Mika Adams-Woods had 16 points with seven assists. 

Cincinnati is 2-11 ATS in their last 13 home games and 23-57 ATS in their last 80 Sunday games. The Bearcats are 18-41 ATS in their last 59 overall and the over is 13-3 in their last 16 overall.
Meanwhile, the Tigers are 7-1 ATS in their last eight overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five Sunday games. The under is 40-17-1 in Memphis’ last 58 overall and 18-6-1 in their last 26 road games. 

PICK: I’m going to take Cincinnati in this one. The Bearcats have been scoring pretty well over their last five games, with 69 or more points in four of those outings. Memphis has had a couple of defense-oriented games in their last pair themselves, allowing just 105 points between the two. Cincinnati is going to have to get off to a good start on the scoreboard here, but if they can find a rhythm on offense I can see the Bearcats banging out a cover.
