The St. Joseph’s Hawks and the Richmond Spiders meet Monday in college basketball action from Robins Center.

St. Joseph’s enters this one at 3-14 so far. The Hawks have won their last two games versus La Salle and Dayton. As for Richmond, they’re 13-6 this year. The Spiders are 2-1 in their last three and coming off a loss to Saint Louis. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

The Hawks started out the year on an ugly 1-14 skid with only a win over Albany on January 9. St. Joseph’s hit an 0-6 skid after their victory, but the good news is they got wins in their last two games. There was an OT win over La Salle and a 97-84 win over Dayton on Wednesday.

In the victory over Dayton last week, St. Joseph’s Taylor Funk led the team on 36 points with six rebounds and one assist. Ryan Daly added 25 points with seven boards, and Cameron Brown chipped in 18 points with two rebounds.

Over on the Richmond side, they’ve been pretty consistent this year and have yet to lose consecutive games. In their last six outings the Spiders are 4-2 with wins over Saint Joseph’s, St. Mary’s MD, Duquesne and UMass alongside losses to VCU and St. Louis.
In the 72-67 loss to St. Louis on Friday, Richmond’s Blake Francis led the team on 24 points with three rebounds and two assists. Both Nathan Cayo and Grant Golden added 10 points apiece, combining for six assists and five rebounds.

Richmond is 4-10 ATS in their last 14 Monday games and 10-4 ATS in their last 14 versus a team with a losing record. The under is 4-1 in the Spiders’ last five overall and the over is 7-3 in their last 10 home games.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph’s is 1-4 ATS in their last five Monday games and 5-17 ATS in their last 22 after a straight-up win. The Hawks are 15-34-2 ATS in their last 51 after an ATS win and the over is 9-2 in their last 11 road games.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Richmond. The Spiders have been scoring well over their last three games, with 79 points in two of them. The last time these teams met was a 79-56 Spiders win on January 26, and Richmond posted 50.8 percent shooting from the field in that one. This game may not be such a blowout, but I still think the Spiders have the cover advantage.
