The Mississippi State Bulldogs and the Texas A&M Aggies meet in college basketball action from Reed Arena on Wednesday night.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs come into this one looking to rebound from a 64-59 loss to Alabama last time out. D.J. Stewart Jr. leads the Bulldogs in scoring with 16.5 PPG along with 2.9 APG while Iverson Molinar has 16.3 PPG with 2.5 APG as well. Tolu Smith’s got 12.6 PPG as well as a team-high 8.6 RPG to lead the Bulldogs on the glass and to make up the trio of double-digit scorers for Mississippi State so far this season. As a team, Mississippi State is averaging 69.6 PPG on 45.3% shooting from the field and 35% from three while allowing 65.6 PPG on 40.2% shooting from the floor and 32.3% from three this season.

The Texas A&M Aggies will be well-rested coming into this one with their last matchup being a 68-61 win over Kansas State before a COVID break paused all activities. Emanuel Miller leads the Aggies in scoring and rebounding with 14.8 PPG and 7.7 RPG as the lone double-digit scorer for Texas A&M this season. Quenton Jackson and Andre Gordon each have 9+ PPG for Texas A&M while Savion Flagg has a team-high 2.6 APG and 4.5 RPG this season. As a team, Texas A&M is averaging 63.5 PPG on 41.7% shooting from the field and 30.2% from three while allowing 65.1 PPG on 44.3% shooting from the field and 33.3% from three this season.

Mississippi State is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 road games against a team with a winning home record. Texas A&M is 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games overall and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 8-3 in their last 11 Wednesday games. The underdog is 7-2 ATS in the last 9 meetings between these two teams.

This is a low total in the low-120s, but even then, I think we may still be too high. I mean you have a Texas A&M team coming off of a month plus long layoff that was scoring 58.4 PPG in their previous 5 games before the break, against a Mississippi State team that battled in a bunch of close games but also has the defense to suffocate the Aggies. I’ll side with the under as I think this is a first to 60 wins kind of game if we even get there as the first meeting finished 56-55. Give me the under.
