Radford vs Campbell College Basketball Picks, Odds, Predictions 3/4/21

The Campbell Fighting Camels and the Radford Highlanders meet Thursday in college basketball action from Dedmon Center. 

Coming into this Big South Tournament matchup, Campbell is 16-9 so far. The Camels are riding an eight-game winning streak. As for Radford, they’re 15-11 this year. Campbell had a choppy January initially with a 3-4 stretch that left the team below .500 on the year (8-9). Since then it’s been a nice string of wins for the Camels, though. They’ve beaten Charleston Southern, USC Upstate, Hampton, High Point and Gardner-Webb in their last eight. 

In the 63-57 win over Gardner-Webb, Campbell’s Jordan Whitfield led the team on 18 points with four rebounds in 38 minutes. Joshua Lusane added 11 points with nine rebounds and three assists for the Camels as well. 

Over on the Radford side, they had a decent run going early last month, sitting at 13-7 after a 9-1 stretch. The Highlanders struggled in their next four with losses to Winthrop and Gardner-Webb, but took out Mount Aloysius and Hampton in their last pair. 

In the 67-52 win over Hampton on Monday, Radford’s Shaquan Jules put up 15 points with 10 rebounds to lead the team. Lewis Djonkam added 12 points and two boards, and Dravon Mangum had 11 points with eight rebounds. 

The Highlanders are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games and 0-4 ATS in their last four Thursday games. Radford is 1-4 ATS in their last five overall and the under is 4-0 in their last four overall. 

Meanwhile, the Camels are 4-0 ATS in their last four after an ATS win and 5-0 ATS in their last five overall. Campbell is 5-0 ATS in the last five as a favorite and the under is 4-1 in their last four overall. 

PICK: I’m going to stick with Campbell. This should be a very interesting matchup, though. The last time these teams met, Radford notched wins 97-91 (3OT) and 67-61. Those losses have been the only blemishes for Campbell since January 10, so they’ve got plenty of motivation here. This one will probably be close as well, but the Camels have been playing well lately and I think they can power it out.
