The Georgia Bulldogs and the Missouri Tigers meet in an SEC conference tournament second-round matchup in college basketball action from Bridgestone Arena on Thursday afternoon.

The Georgia Bulldogs come into the conference tournament as the #10 seed, finishing the year with a 7-11 record in conference play as part of their 14-11 overall mark this season. Sahvir Wheeler leads the Bulldogs in scoring and assists with 14 PPG and 7.2 APG while K.D. Johnson has 13.6 PPG and Toumani Camara has 12 PPG with a team-high 7.6 RPG to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Georgia up to this point in the season as the Bulldogs’ leading rebounder this year. Justin Kier and Tye Fagan also have 9+ PPG and 3.5+ RPG for Georgia this season. As a team, Georgia is averaging 77.8 PPG on 45.9% shooting from the field and 31.8% from three while allowing 78.2 PPG on 45.8% shooting from the field and 33.9% from three this season.

The Missouri Tigers come into the conference tournament as the #7 seed after finishing the year with an 8-8 mark in conference play as part of their 15-8 overall record this season. Dru Smith leads the Tigers in scoring with 14.1 PPG and also in assists with 3.9 APG this season while Xavier Pinson has 14 PPG and 2.9 APG for Mizzou this season. Jeremiah Tilmon has 12.5 PPG with a team-high 7.4 RPG to lead the Tigers in rebounding and Mark Smith has 10 PPG to make up the group of double-digit scorers for Missouri up to this point in the season. Kobe Brown also has 7.8 PPG and 6 RPG as well for the Tigers this season. As a team, Missouri is averaging 74.1 PPG on 45.1% shooting from the field and 31.9% from three while allowing 72.1 PPG on 43% shooting from the field and 32.2% from three this season.

Georgia is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games against a team with a winning record and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Thursday games while the over is 3-0-1 in their last 4 games following a loss. Missouri is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 7-2 in their last 9 neutral site games. The underdog is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.

I get the points are tempting with Georgia as the Bulldogs stepped up against a lot of the better teams in the SEC this season. However, the Bulldogs also had a tendency of giving up points in bunches and you can only get yourself in so many track meets before it eventually blows up in your face. I just don’t know if the Bulldogs can do it again with such a deep team like Missouri on the other end of the floor, so I’ll lay the points with Missouri as I think the Tigers end up being too much for Georgia here.
