The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Purdue Boilermakers meet Friday in college basketball action from Lucas Oil Stadium.

Coming into this Big Ten Tournament matchup, Ohio State sits at 19-8 overall. The Buckeyes took out Minnesota in tournament action on Thursday. As for Purdue, they’re 18-8 overall. The Boilermakers have won five straight and beat Indiana in their last game. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Ohio State has been pretty consistent for most of the year. The Buckeyes went 18-4 in their first 22 games and didn’t lost consecutive outings in that stretch. After a recent four-game losing streak, Ohio State got their mojo back with a big win over Minnesota on Thursday.

In the Thursday tournament win over Minnesota, Ohio State posted a 39-27 edge in the first half and hung on for the eventual 79-75 result. Leading the Buckeyes in scoring were Justice Sueing and Duane Washington, each with 16 points and a combined 10 rebounds.

Over on the Purdue side, they’ve been pretty consistent this year and have only lost consecutive games once. The Boilermakers have lost just three games since January 2, and they’ve beaten Michigan state, Nebraska, Penn State, Wisconsin and Indiana in their last five.
In the 67-58 win over the Hoosiers on Saturday, Purdue’s Zach Edey led the way on 20 points with nine rebounds and one assist. Jaden Ivey added 17 points with one rebound and one assist, and Brandon Newman chipped in five points with six boards and three assists.

Purdue is 4-0 ATS in their last four after a straight-up win and 4-0 ATS in their last four after an ATS win. The Boilermakers are 5-0 ATS in their last five overall and the under is 4-1 in their last five Friday games.

Meanwhile, Ohio State is 4-1 ATS in their last five Friday games and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 neutral-site games. The over is 10-3 in their last 13 neutral-site games and the over is 4-1 in their last five after an ATS loss.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Purdue in this one. The Boilermakers have been on a nice run during this five-game win streak, notching 73 or more points in four of those outings. Purdue is 11-3 in their last 14 games, and really only had one bad showing in that stretch (a 70-53 loss to Michigan). Otherwise it’s been pretty consistent sailing for the Boilermakers, and I like them to keep it going in the tournament.
