UC Riverside vs UC Irvine College Basketball Picks, Odds, Predictions 2/14/21

The UC Irvine Anteaters and the UC Riverside Highlanders meet Saturday in college basketball action from UC Riverside Student Recreation Center. 

UC Irvine comes into this one at 10-7 this season. As for UC Riverside, they’re sitting at 9-4 so far. This will be a rematch of Friday’s game featuring these teams. UC Irvine began their year at 2-4 before a seven-game win streak over San Diego, UC Santa Barbara, UC San Diego, Cal Poly and Hawaii. The Anteaters went 1-2 in their next three with a win over CSU Bakersfield between losses to Hawaii and CSU Bakersfield. 

In the Friday game versus UC Riverside, UC Irvine had a 41-28 deficit after the first half and couldn’t catch up in an 86-65 blowout loss. Leading the team in scoring was DJ Davis with 21 points and one rebound. 

Over on the UC Riverside side, they kicked off the year at 3-1 before a string of cancellations kept them inactive until January 8. The Highlanders ent 5-3 in their next eight games with wins over Hawaii, Cal Poly, CSU Bakersfield and UC San Diego. 

In Friday’s game, the Highlanders scored 41 points in the first half and kept the pressure on with 45 in the second. Tops in scoring for UC Riverside was Dominick Pickett with 22 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals. 

The Highlanders are 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight home games and 5-1 ATS in the last six overall. UC Riverside is 4-1-1 ATS in their last six Saturday games and the under is 20-7 in their last 27 Saturday games. 

Meanwhile, the Anteaters are 6-2 ATS in their last eight Saturday games and 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight road games. UC Irvine is 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight as a favorite and the over is 7-3 in their last 10 as an underdog. 

PICK: I like UC Riverside in this one. The Highlanders notched a few pretty solid offensive performances in January, logging 70 or more points in six of eight games. Friday’s matchup was another nice points total for UC Riverside, and they played well the entire game. I like another nice effort here from the Highlanders.
