The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the Virginia Cavaliers meet Saturday in college basketball action from John Paul Jones Arena.

Georgia Tech enters this one at 7-3 so far. The Yellow Jackets have won five straight games and are coming off a victory over Clemson. As for Virginia, they’re sitting at 9-2 this season. The Cavaliers have also won five straight and beat Clemson in their last appearance as well. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Georgia Tech began their season at 2-2 with losses to Georgia State and Mercer before wins over Kentucky and Nebraska. The Jackets then lost to Florida State before rattling off wins over Florida A&M, Delaware State, North Carolina, Wake Forest and Clemson in their last five.

In Wednesday’s 83-65 win over Clemson, Georgia Tech’s Michael Devoe notched 22 points with six assists and four rebounds to lead the team. Both Jordan Usher and Moses Wright posted 21 points apiece, combining for six rebounds and six assists as well.

Over on the Virginia side, they started their year with a 4-1 run that included a one-point loss to San Francisco. After a loss to Gonzaga, the Cavaliers bagged five straight wins over Notre Dame, Wake Forest, Boston College, Notre Dame again and Clemson.

In last weekend’s 85-50 win over the Tigers, Virginia’s Sam Hauser and Tomas Woldetensae led the wagon 14 points apiece with a combined three assists and 13 rebounds. Trey Murphy chipped in with 13 points, three rebounds and one assist in 20 minutes of work as well.

The Cavaliers are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games and 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven Saturday games. Virginia is 4-1 ATS in their last five overall and the over is 4-1 in their last five home games.

Meanwhile, the Yellow Jackets are 12-5 ATS in their last 17 road games and 4-1 ATS in their last five versus a team with a winning straight-up record. Georgia Tech is 11-5 ATS in their last 16 road games versus a team with a winning home record as well.

PICK: I’m sticking with Virginia. You really could make a case either way here, however. Both teams have been playing great and have taken out some difficult squads during their respective five-game winning streaks. The Cavaliers have been scoring pretty well lately, with 70 or more points in three of their last four. Georgia Tech has hit 70 or more in each of their last five, but I have the feeling that defense will control this game. Virginia is a little more adept in that area, so I like the Cavs better. Should be a great game, though.

Andrew's Free Pick: Virginia Cavaliers -9
