The LSU Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide meet in college basketball action from Coleman Coliseum on Wednesday night.

The LSU Tigers will look to bounce back from a 76-71 loss to Texas Tech last time out. Cameron Thomas leads LSU in scoring with 22.3 PPG while Trendon Watford is 2nd in scoring, rebounding and assists with 17.3 PPG with 7.1 RPG and 3.5 APG. Ja’Vonte Smart has 15.5 PPG with a team-high 4.1 APG and Darius Days has 12.1 PPG with a team-high 7.9 RPG to make up the group of double-digit scorers for LSU coming into this game, with Days looking like he’s missing this game due to injury. As a team, LSU is averaging 82.9 PPG on 47.1% shooting from the field, 34.3% from 3-point range and 75.9% from the foul line while allowing 74.1 PPG on 41.6% shooting from the field and 30.4% from 3-point range this season.

The Alabama Crimson Tide will look to bounce back from a 66-61 loss to Oklahoma last time out. John Petty Jr. and Jaden Shackelford share the team lead in scoring with 13.6 PPG with Petty Jr. logging 5 RPG while Shackelford has 2.3 APG. Herb Jones has 12.6 PPG with a team-high 5.9 RPG while Jahvon Quinerly has 12 PPG with a team-high 3.3 APG to make up the group of double-digit scorers of Alabama up to this point in the year. As a team, Alabama is averaging 79.9 PPG on 43.4% shooting from the field, 36% from 3-point range and 70.9% from the foul line while allowing 69.7 PPG on 40.2% shooting from the field and 30.6% from 3-point range this season.

LSU is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the over is 4-1-1 in their last 6 games against a team with a winning record. Alabama is 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games overall and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games while the over is 13-3 in their last 16 games following a loss. The favorite is 19-6-1 ATS in the last 26 meetings between these two teams.

I think you could make a case for either side here as LSU is always capable of pouring on the points and hanging with teams while Alabama is one of the better teams in the country. With that said, Darius Days missing this game for LSU is massive as he’s a big contributor to the Tigers’ offense. I’m not saying one player makes a whole team, but when he contributes as much as he does, it can be a huge blow in these meaningful conference games. I think Alabama also wants to get the bad taste out of their mouths from that Oklahoma loss, so I’ll lay the points with Alabama in a bounce back spot here.
