The Oregon Ducks and Louisville Cardinals meet Sunday in the women’s college basketball NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 at the Alamodome.

The Oregon Ducks look for another win after beating South Dakota and Georgia in their first two rounds. The Oregon Ducks are averaging 72.1 points on 45.2 percent shooting and allowing 59.6 points on 37.2 percent shooting. Nyara Sabally is averaging 12.9 points and 7.3 rebounds while Erin Boley is averaging 10.7 points and 4.6 rebounds. Sedona Prince is the third double-digit scorer and Te-Hina Paopao is grabbing 3.2 rebounds. The Oregon Ducks are shooting 36.1 percent from beyond the arc and 70.3 percent from the free throw line. The Oregon Ducks are allowing 30.2 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 39 rebounds per game.

The Louisville Cardinals look for another win after beating Marist and Northwestern in their first two rounds. The Louisville Cardinals are averaging 77.9 points on 46.5 percent shooting and allowing 60.8 points on 36.9 percent shooting. Dana Evans is averaging 19.6 points and 2.7 rebounds while Kianna Smith is averaging 11.5 points and 3.7 rebounds. Hailey Van Lith is the third double-digit scorer and Olivia Cochran is grabbing 6.9 rebounds. The Louisville Cardinals are shooting 34.9 percent from beyond the arc and 79.5 percent from the free throw line. The Louisville Cardinals are allowing 27.7 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 39.5 rebounds per game.

You have to give credit to the Oregon Ducks for putting together two solid performances to make the Sweet 16, which includes an upset win over Georgia, as they entered the tournament losing five of their last six games. With that said, we can’t ignore Oregon’s struggles and the constant issues this team has scoring the basketball. The Louisville Cardinals have a clear advantage on the offensive side and they should have a new level of confidence after making one of the biggest comebacks in tournament history against Northwestern. Louisville trailed by 15 points at the end of the first quarter and went on to outscore the Wildcats 42-21 in the second half.

I like the Louisville Cardinals to make their sixth Elite Eight since 2009.
