The Indiana Hoosiers and Arizona Wildcats meet Monday in the women’s college basketball NCAA Tournament Elite Eight at the Alamodome

The Indiana Hoosiers are fresh off a victory over NC State and now hope to make their first Final Four appearance in school history. The Indiana Hoosiers are averaging 75.3 points on 45.7 percent shooting and allowing 59.7 points on 37.5 percent shooting. Mackenzie Holmes is averaging 17.7 points and 7.6 rebounds while Grace Berger is averaging 15.4 points and 6.9 rebounds. Ali Patberg is the third double-digit scorer and Jaelynn Penn is grabbing 4.9 rebounds. The Indiana Hoosiers are shooting 29.2 percent from beyond the arc and 71.6 percent from the free throw line. The Indiana Hoosiers are allowing 29.9 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 39.1 rebounds per game.

The Arizona Wildcats comfortably beat Texas A&M on Saturday and also look to make their first Final Four trip in school history. The Arizona Wildcats are averaging 66.8 points on 41.5 percent shooting and allowing 55.3 points on 36.8 percent shooting. Aari McDonald is averaging 19.8 points and 5.2 rebounds while Cate Reese is averaging 11.4 points and 5.4 rebounds. Trinity Baptiste is grabbing six rebounds and Sam Thomas is grabbing 3.2 rebounds. The Arizona Wildcats are shooting 33.4 percent from beyond the arc and 68.8 percent from the free throw line. The Arizona Wildcats are allowing 31.3 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 36.6 rebounds per game.

You can make a case for either of these teams and with a first ever Final Four trip on the line for both sides, you’re going to get the best effort from both teams. Indiana deserves credit for bouncing the first No. 1 seed in the tournament, but it’s fair to mention NC State was dealing with injuries to two of its better players and the Wolfpack still had a chance to win that game late. The Arizona Wildcats have been a top tier defensive team all season, but they’ve been making their threes in this tournament and that raises the ceiling of the club if that continues. Arizona also will have the best player on the court in McDonald.

Give me the free bucket, as I like Arizona to make its first Final Four.
