The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles and the Colorado State Rams meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Moby Arena. The Golden Eagles are coming off of a decent 18-11 record last year and made it all the way to the Sweet Sixteen. As for the Rams, they posted a 20-8 finish in 2020-21 and found some success in the NIT. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Oral Roberts posted an 18-11 record overall last season, with a 10-5 in Summit League play. The Eagles were left in fourth place in the conference standings but did great in the conference tourney. Oral Roberts took out North Dakota, South Dakota State and North Dakota State on the way to the Summit League Tournament title.

Once the NCAA Tournament rolled around, Oral Roberts’ season wasn’t quite finished. The Eagles took out Ohio State 75-72 in OT, then posted a Second Round win over Florida 81-78. Oral Roberts’ season came to an end against Arkansas however, losing 72-70 in the Sweet Sixteen Round.

Over on the Colorado State side, they posted a 20-8 overall record in 2020-21 and logged a 14-4 mark in Mountain West games. Colorado State would finish third in the conference standings, just behind San Diego State (14-3) and Utah State (15-4).

Colorado State took out Fresno State in the Mountain West Tournament but then fell to Utah State in the Semifinals. After an NIT bid, the Rams beat Buffalo and NC State before losing the Memphis and Louisiana Tech on the way to a fourth-place tourney finish.

The Eagles are 7-0 ATS in their last seven overall and 4-0 ATS in their last four Tuesday games. Oral Roberts is 13-3 ATS in their last 16 road games as well. Meanwhile, the Rams are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games overall.

PICK: I’m going to take Colorado State in this one. The Rams have a lot of people talking this year, and some say they could crack into the top 25 teams at some point. The blueprint for success is certainly there for the Rams; they’re returning around 93 percent of their minutes and have a handful of young pieces behind star junior David Roddy. If Colorado State can get right down to business in this opener and find some early chemistry I think they’ll start turning heads with a nice cover.
