Florida vs Elon College Basketball Picks, Odds, Predictions 11/9/21

The Elon Phoenix and Florida Gators meet Tuesday in college basketball action at the Exactech Arena. The Elon Phoenix won 10 games last season and enter the third year under coach Mike Schrage. The Florida Gators won 15 games last year and enter a seventh year under coach Michael White.

The Elon Phoenix return four of their top-five scorers from last season, so they have to expect a bounce back year in the CAA. Hunter McIntosh returns after averaging 15.7 points and 3.2 rebounds, while Jerald Gillens-Butler averaged 15.7 points and 1.7 assists. Darius Burford dished 1.3 assists and Hunter Woods averaged 6.8 rebounds. Elon has a lot of familiar faces coming back, and a full season of Gillens-Butler will be huge. A Butler transfer, Gillens-Butler played in just three games due to injury after getting off to a terrific start.

The Florida Gators have made the big dance in four of the last five years and have to believe they can compete for an SEC title this season. Keyontae Johnson returns after averaging 16 points and 4.5 rebounds, while Colin Castleton averaged 12.4 points and 1.1 assists. Tyree Appleby is a third double-digit returning scorer, and Anthony Duruji averaged 4.4 rebounds. There’s still no word if Keyontae will be medically cleared to play for the Gators, but him potentially coming back gives Florida one of the best players in the SEC. Myreon Jones is a massive transfer from Penn State and Kowacie Reeves is a 5-star recruit. Florida has a lot of potential this season, especially if Keyontae gets the OK at some point.

The Phoenix are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games and 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Gators are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 home games and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The under is 16-5 in Phoenix last 21 overall. The under is 7-3-1 in Gators last 11 overall.

The Elon Phoenix are a decent squad that should make you money this season, but they’re not on Florida’s level. Even without Keyontae possibly for the entire season, the Gators have more than enough returning production and a couple of playing joining to make a run at an SEC title. I like Florida to open this game up in the second half and cover the hefty number.
