The Toledo Rockets and Valparaiso Beacons meet Tuesday in college basketball action at the Athletics-Recreation Center. The Toledo Rockets won 21 games last year and enter another year under coach Tod Kowalczyk. The Valparaiso Beacons won 10 games last year and enter year six under coach Matt Lottich.
The Toledo Rockets say goodbye to their best player in Marreon Jackson, but they have three double-digit scorers returning. Toledo also should get a full season out of AJ Edu, who is a force on the glass. The Toledo Rockets will be an interesting team in the MAC this season. However, the Valparaiso Beacons are no pushovers, as they return many players from last year’s squad and will have one of the best players on the court for this game. This should be a fun contest, and I’ll grab the points in a game Valparaiso could win outright.
