The Weber State Wildcats and the Duquesne Dukes meet in college basketball action from the PPG Paints Arena on Monday night.

The Weber State Wildcats will be looking to add to their season-opening 100-60 win over Western Colorado last time out. Jamison Overton led the Wildcats with 18 points and 3 assists in the opener as well as logging 5 steals while Seikou Sisoho-Jawara was right behind with 17 points. Koby McEwen chipped in 16 points with 6 rebounds while Cody Carlson, Zahir Porter and Dillon Jones all had 10 points to cap off the scoring in double figures for Weber State in the win with Jones logging a team-high 11 rebounds for the double-double.

The Duquesne Dukes will look to bounce back from their first loss of the season in the form of a 73-63 loss to Hofstra in their last game. Amir Spears leads the Dukes with 15.5 PPG and 3.5 APG while Kevin Easley has 15 PPG and a team-high 6 RPG so far this season. Tre Williams also has 11.5 PPG with 5.5 RPG to make up the trio of Dukes that are scoring in double figures through the first two games of the season while Leon Ayers III has 9.5 PPG and 5 RPG as well this season. As a team, Duquesne is averaging 68 PPG on 38.6% shooting from the field, 27.8% from three and 76.7% from the foul line while allowing 67 PPG on 51.4% from the field and 32.4% from three this season.

Weber State is 3-13-1 ATS in their last 17 Monday games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a win of 20+ points while the over is 5-2 in their last 7 games after scoring 100 points or more in the previous game. Duquesne is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 home games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games as an underdog while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games following a loss.

I get that Weber State is a dangerous offensive team and we’ve seen it in year’s past, but the Wildcats played a cupcake in their opener and it’s going to be interesting to see how they do against a team with a pulse. Duquesne is far from a world-beater, but they’ve played two legitimate opponents in their first two games and have looked like a formidable opponent this season. I’ll take the free bucket with the Dukes at home here.
