The UC-Davis Aggies and the Pepperdine Waves meet in college basketball action from Firestone Fieldhouse on Wednesday night.

The UC-Davis Aggies will look to build on an 84-76 win over Eastern Washington last time out. Christian Anigwe leads the Aggies in scoring and rebounding with 16.5 PPG and 9 RPG while Elijah Pepper has 15.5 PPG and 3 APG and Ezra Manjon has 14.5 PPG with 5.5 RPG and 2.5 APG to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for UC-Davis this season. Caleb Fuller and Kane Milling each have 8.5 PPG with Fuller logging 7.5 RPG as well. As a team, UC-Davis is averaging 78 PPG 41.6% shooting from the field, 25.5% from three and 69% from the foul line while allowing 72.5 PPG on 33.9% shooting from the field and 29.1% from three this season.

The Pepperdine Waves will be looking to bounce back from an 86-74 OT loss to Utah Valley last time out. Houston Mallette leads the Waves in scoring with 15.3 PPG along with 5 RPG while Jan Zidek has 12.7 PPG with 3.7 RPG and Jade’ Smith has 12.3 PPG with 5.3 RPG to make up the group of double-digit scorers for Pepperdine through three games this season. Keith Fisher III also has 6 RPG and Victor Ohia Obioha has 6.5 RPG as well this season. As a team, Pepperdine is averaging 67.3 PPG on 39.1% shooting from the field, 31.1% from three and 71.4% from the foul line while allowing 76 PPG on 46.9% shooting from the field and 36.6% from three this season.

UC-Davis is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 20-6-2 ATS in their last 28 Wednesday games while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 road games. Pepperdine is 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games following a win and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Wednesday games under is 3-1-1 in their last 5 home games against a team with a winning road record.

I get the case that could be made either way here, but I’m going to side with the under. I just don’t trust Pepperdine’s offense to deliver because we’ve seen the Waves struggle more often than not and the Aggies aren’t the kind of team to really light it up offensively either. I’ll side with the under.
