The Clemson Tigers and the Temple Owls meet Thursday in college basketball action from TD Arena. Clemson is currently 3-0 so far and coming off a win over Bryant. As for Temple, they’re 1-1 on the year and lost to USC by five points in their last game. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Clemson started slow in their opener against Presbyterian with just 24 first-half points, but eventually woke up in a 64-53 victory. In game two, the Tigers took a step forward on offense, taking out Wofford 76-68 to move to 2-0 on the year.

In their third outing against Bryant, Clemson broke out for 52 points in the first half. The Tigers would go on to post a 93-70 victory to keep it going. Top scorer was Hunter Tyson with 20 points and five rebounds. David Colins added 10 points and nine rebounds as well.

Over on the Temple side, they had a slim 26-25 lead over Maryland Eastern Shore in their opener. The Owls eventually found a rhythm and won 72-49. Khalif Battle led the way in scoring with 22 points and six rebounds for Temple.

The Owls were blown out in the first half against USC in game two, falling behind 46-27. Temple made a game of it though, and eventually fell 76-71. Battle was again the top team scorer, posting 26 points and three rebounds.

Temple is 1-4 ATS in their last five after an ATS win and 20-6 ATS in their last 26 Thursday games. The Owls are 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 after a straight-up loss.

Meanwhile, the Tigers are 6-2 ATS in their last eight neutral-site games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight after an ATS win. Clemson is 5-0 ATS in their last five Thursday games as well.

PICK: I’m going to stay with Clemson. The Tigers are coming off a scorching offensive performance, with 56.5 percent shooting from the floor and 10-of-18 (55.6 percent) from 3-point range. Clemson was solid on the boards (39 rebounds) and came up with 20 team assists.

As for Temple, they had a good second half against USC but had dug themselves too big of a hole by then. the good news is that the Owls held the rebound advantage 44-39. Still, I don’t think they’ll be able to keep up if Clemson comes out firing.
