The Weber State Wildcats and the Ball State Cardinals meet Friday in college basketball action from McArthur Center. Weber State is coming off a matchup versus UMass. In that one the Wildcats bagged a 15-point win. As for Ball State, they played FIU in their last outing on Thursday. The Cardinals ended up losing by 13 points. Weber State managed wins in their first pair of games this season. The opener was against Western State Colorado University, and turned into a 100-60 rout for the Wildcats. The Duquesne matchup was tougher but Weber State came out on top 63-59.
In Thursday’s game versus UMass, Weber State held a slim 36-34 edge at the break, then scored 52 points from there in a nice 88-73 win. Jamison Overton put up 21 points with five rebounds, and Koby McEwen finished on 19 points, seven boards and four assists.
Over on the Ball State side, they opened up the year with a matchup versus Georgia Southern. The Cardinals kept the pace in the first half but ultimately fell 82-71. In game two, Ball State managed their first win, taking it 73-69 over Omaha.
On Thursday Ball State matched up against FIU. In that one the Cardinals had a 34-28 deficit at halftime and couldn’t catch up in a 73-60 loss. Basheer Jihad finished with 14 points and five rebounds in 16 minutes of action.
