The VMI Keydets and the Marist Red Foxes meet in college basketball action from McCann Arena on Saturday.

The VMI Keydets will look to build on a 97-35 beatdown over subdivision Keystone last time out. Kamden Curfman leads the Keydets in scoring with 16 PPG while Jake Stephens has 13.7 PPG and a team-high 7.3 RPG as well this season. Cooper Sisco has 13 PPG to make up the trio of double-digit scorers for VMI so far this year while Trey Bonham has 9 PPG and a team-high 4.3 APG. As a team, VMI is averaging 93.3 PPG on 51.8% shooting from the field, 46.8% from three and 75.9% from the foul line while allowing 54.3 PPG on 32.5% shooting from the field and 24.7% from three this season.

The Marist Red Foxes will try to rebound from an 80-61 loss to Princeton in their last game. Raheim Sullivan leads Marist in scoring with 15 PPG while Ricardo Wright has 13.7 PPG as the only other double-digit scorer for Marist so far this season. Jordan Jones has 9.3 PPG and Jao Ituka has 9 PPG. Matt Herasme also has a team-high 6.7 RPG as well for the Red Foxes this season. As a team, Marist is averaging 72 PPG on 45.2% shooting from the field, 35.5% from three and 68.4% from the foul line while allowing 74.7 PPG on 48.2% shooting from the field and 36.6% from three this season.

VMI is 1-3-2 ATS in their last 6 games following a win and 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games after scoring more than 90 points in the previous game while the over is 21-5 in their last 26 games against a team with a winning percentage below .400. Marist is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a SU loss and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following an ATS loss while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall.

It’s hard to get a read on either of these teams as VMI’s played two unlined games while this will be Marist’s first home game of the year. With that said, I’m leaning towards the over. Marist has gone 3-0 to the over this season whether it’s been their play or their opponents and I think VMI’s confidence shooting the rock will carry over from their wins over their subdivision opponents. Give me the over here.
