The Texas Tech Red Raiders and the Incarnate Word Cardinals meet in college basketball action from the South Padre Island Convention Centre on Saturday.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders will be looking to add to their 84-49 rout of Prairie View A&M last time out. Bryson Williams leads the Red Raiders in scoring and rebounding with 18.7 PPG and 7.7 RPG while Davion Warren has 16 PPG with 3.7 RPG and 2.3 APG. Kevin MCCullar has 14.7 PPG with 7.3 RPG and 3.7 APG and Kevin Obanor has 11.3 PPG with 4.3 RPG to cap off the scoring in double figures for the Red Raiders this season. Mylik Wilson also has a team-high 5 APG this season for Texas Tech. As a team, Texas Tech is averaging 87 PPG on 47% shooting from the field, 33.3% from three and 67.1% from the foul line while allowing 61.7 PPG on 44.1% shooting from the field and 38.1% from three this season.

The Incarnate Word Cardinals will hope to bounce back from an 82-78 loss to subdivision Concordia-Texas last time out. Josh Morgan leads UIW in scoring with 20.3 PPG along with 3 RPG while RJ Glasper has 11.3 PPG with a team-high 3.3 APG and Drew Lutz has 11 PPG to make up the trio of double-digit scorers for UIW so far this season. Benjamin Griscti also has 8.7 PPG and 4 RPG as well this season. As a team, Incarnate Word is averaging 65 PPG on 43.5% shooting from the field, 38.4% from three and 68.8% from the foul line while allowing 81.3 PPG on 55% shooting from the field and 39.3% from three this season.

Texas Tech is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 neutral site games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 Saturday games. Incarnate Word is 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a loss while the over is 6-0 in their last 6 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600.

The risk you take with laying these big numbers, as Baylor found out, is that it can be hard to cover them no matter how talented you are as Baylor was laying 33.5 in that game and Incarnate Word found a way to cover. However, a loss to a subdivision school doesn’t inspire much confidence in me for UIW’s chances here considering that Texas Tech’s been pummeling anyone who gets in their way this season. I’ll lay the points with the Red Raiders here.
