The Dayton Flyers and the Miami Hurricanes meet Thursday in college basketball action from HP Field House. Dayton enters this one at 1-3 so far. The Flyers fell to Austin Peay in their last outing. As for Miami, they’re 3-1 this season. The Hurricanes beat Florida A&M in their most recent game. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Dayton kicked off their season with a solid 64-54 win over UIC. The Flyers were down early in that one but scored 39 in the second half to get the win. In the next two games, Dayton recorded losses to UMass Lowell 59-58 and Lipscomb 78-59.

On Saturday versus Austin Peay, Dayton posted another loss. The Flyers had a 46-38 edge at halftime but faded down the stretch in an eventual 87-81 loss. Toumani Camara put up 14 points with six boards and three rebounds to lead the team.

Over on the Miami side, they got off to a good start this year with a win over Canisius 77-67 in the opener. The Hurricanes fell to UCF 95-89 in game two, but bounced back with a tight 68-66 win over Florida Atlantic in their third outing.

In Sunday’s matchup against Florida A&M, the Hurricanes rolled to a 42-21 halftime lead. Miami finished off with 44 second-half points in an 86-59 blowout win. Charlie Moore led the way on 20 points with four assists.

Miami is 2-8 ATS in their last 10 Thursday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five neutral-site games. The Hurricanes are 5-1 ATS in their last six after a straight-up win.

Meanwhile, the Flyers are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 Thursday games and 0-4 ATS in their last four after an ATS loss. Dayton is 0-6 ATS in their last six overall.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Miami. The Hurricanes have had a couple of spotty performances so far this year—like the loss to UCF and the near-collapse against FAU—but otherwise they’ve played well. Miami shot 50 percent against Florida A&M with a commanding 49 rebounds. Considering Dayton has had some pretty significant second-half struggles already this year, I don’t think Miami will have too much trouble covering if they play well.
