Georgetown vs Saint Joseph’s 11/26/2021 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Saint Joseph’s Hawks and the Georgetown Hoyas meet Friday in college basketball action from Anaheim Convention Center. Saint Joseph’s is 2-3 so far and coming off a loss to USC on Thursday. Saint Joseph’s enters this one at 2-3 so far on the year. The Hawks got their victories in their first pair of outings versus Maryland Eastern Shore and Mount St. Mary’s. Two losses came afterward as the Hawks lost to Drexel and Monmouth. 

In Thursday’s matchup against USC, Saint Joseph’s had a 38-26 deficit at the break and couldn’t get any closer in a 70-55 loss. Ejike Obinna topped the team with a double-double on 18 points and 10 rebounds. 

Over on the Georgetown side, they started out their year with a 69-60 loss to Dartmouth. The Hoyas bounced back with a victory over American in the next game, then moved to 2-1 with an 83-65 win over Siena in game three.

In Thursday’s matchup against San Diego State, the Hoyas fell behind 40-32 at the break and things only got worse from there. Georgetown would end up falling 73-56. Aminu Mohammed led the team on 20 points with four rebounds. 

PICK: I’m going to stick with Georgetown, despite the flat performance Thursday evening. The Hoyas shot just 35.1 percent against San Diego State (the Aztecs shot 48.3) with just four of 20 3-pointers made. The good news is that Georgetown held strong with a slim 39-38 rebounding gap. 

As for Saint Joseph’s, they did a decent job against USC in a lot of areas, such as the 42-42 rebounding tie and the 10 team assists. The Hawks shot just 35.4 percent from the floor however, with 6-of-31 (19.4 percent) from 3-point range. Saint Joseph’s is going to need a quick turnaround here.
