The Maryland Terrapins and the Louisville Cardinals meet Saturday in college basketball action from Baha Mar Convention Center. Maryland is 5-1 so far this year and took out Richmond in their Thursday matchup. As for Louisville, they’re 4-1 on the season and beat Mississippi State in their Thursday game. Maryland posted a 3-0 run to kick off the season. The Terrapins beat Quinnipiac, George Washington and Vermont in their first trio, then lost to George Mason 71-66. Maryland bounced back with a 69-67 win over Hofstra in game five.

On Thursday against Richmond, Maryland recorded another victory. The Terrapins were down 41-32 at halftime but scored 54 points from there in an 86-80 win. Hakim Hart was the leading scorer on 24 points, and Eric Ayala added 20 points and nine boards.

Over on the Louisville side, they began the year with a win over Southern U, then lost to Furman 80-72 in their second outing. The Cardinals would come back to beat Navy and Detroit in their next pair of games.

Louisville kept it going on Thursday with another win over Mississippi State. The Cardinals posted a 41-25 edge in the first half and cruised to a 72-58 victory from there. Samuell Williamson led the way on 15 points and six rebounds.

Maryland is 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall and the under is 4-1 in their last five overall. The under is 36-17 in the Terrapins’ last 53 Saturday games.

Meanwhile, the Cardinals are 7-18-2 ATS in their last 27 after an ATS win and 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall. The over is 5-2 in Louisville’s last seven after an ATS win.

PICK: I’m going to try Maryland in this one. We should have a pretty fun matchup on our hands here, though. In any case, the Terrapins put up a good effort in the Richmond game, shooting 49.1 percent from the floor with a 37-32 rebounding edge and 17 team assists.

As for Louisville, they did well in their win over Mississippi State, with 41.3 percent from the floor and 47 rebounds. If both teams start this one out shooting well, we’re likely in for a high-scoring and competitive game. I like Maryland slightly better on a cover/win, but you could certainly make a case either way.
