The Pepperdine Waves will travel to the Lawlor Events Center to take on the Nevada Wolf Pack this Tuesday night in College Basketball action.

The Pepperdine Waves lost their 4th straight game and dropped to 2-6 on the season after being defeated by the Grand Canyon Antelopes, 59-56, this past Saturday. Pepperdine kept the game competitive despite struggling offensively, however the Waves could not fight back after a Jovan Blacksher Jr. jumper gave Grand Canyon a 57-56 lead with 1:45 left in regulation. Pepperdine shot 35.1% from the field & 20.8% from beyond the arc while allowing Grand Canyon to shoot 40.7% from the field & 19.0% from beyond the arc. Pepperdine won the turnover battle by a 17-11 margin, however, was outrebounded by the Antelopes by a 46-30 margin in the loss. Leading the way for the Waves was Houston Mallette who had 11 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, & 2 steals.

On the season, Pepperdine is averaging 63.1 ppg on 41.0% shooting from the field. The Waves are averaging 6.9 three-pointers per game on 33.5% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Pepperdine has been led by Houston Mallette (12.6 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.1 spg), Jan Zidek (12.0 ppg, 3.4 rpg), Jade’ Smith (9.1 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 2.9 apg), & Mike Mitchell Jr. (8.9 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 4.5 apg, 1.1 spg).

Defensively, Pepperdine is allowing their opponents to average 72.4 ppg on 46.2% shooting from the field. The Waves have a rebound margin of -4.5 and a turnover margin of -1.5.

The Nevada Wolf Pack won their 2nd straight game and improved to 3-4 on the season after defeating the Washington Huskies, 81-62, this past Wednesday. Nevada led by a 29-27 margin at halftime and was able to pull away in the 2nd half after taking a 61-49 lead with 8:21 left in regulation. Nevada shot 45.3% from the field & 30.8% from beyond the arc while holding Washington to just 37.3% shooting from the field & 36.0% from beyond the arc. Nevada lost the turnover battle by a 17-14 margin, however, outrebounded Washington by a 44-25 margin in the victory. Leading the way for the Wolf Pack was Grant Sherfield who had 23 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, & 2 steals.

On the season, Nevada is averaging 78.1 ppg on 45.5% shooting from the field. The Wolf Pack are averaging 7.9 three-pointers per game on 35.0% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Nevada has been led by Grant Sherfield (17.7 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 6.0 apg), Desmond Cambridge Jr. (17.0 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 2.6 apg, 1.6 spg), Warren Washington (12.3 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 1.3 bpg), & Will Baker (12.0 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 1.1 apg).

Defensively, Nevada is allowing their opponents to average 78.7 ppg on 46.5% shooting from the field. The Wolf Pack have a rebound margin of -0.1 and a turnover margin of 0.1.

The Waves are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games following a straight tup loss & 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 games overall. The Wolf Pack are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a losing road record & 9-2 ATS in their last 11 home games.

Pepperdine has had a tough start to their season, and it has been especially ugly on the road where the Waves are 0-2 and lost those two games against Rice & UC Irvine by a combined 53 points. Pepperdine has struggled on both ends of the court as they come into this matchup ranked just 310th in scoring offense & 247th in scoring defense. Nevada has also had a tough start to their season, which included dismissing one of their high-profile transfers AJ Bramah, however, the Wolf Pack looked great recently in the Crossover Classic coming up back-to-back 19-point wins against George Mason & Washington. Nevada had struggled defensively, however, the offense has been solid as they come into this game ranked 80th in scoring offense and as I think their recent run of solid play continues, I think the Wolf Pack do enough at home to cover this large spread. Good Luck!
