Oklahoma State vs Wichita State 12/1/21 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Wichita State Shockers and the Oklahoma State Cowboys meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Gallagher-Iba Arena. Wichita State is 5-1 so far and beat Missouri in their last appearance. As for Oklahoma State, they’re riding a five-game win streak and coming off a win over Oral Roberts. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place. 

Wichita State kicked off the year with three straight wins over Jacksonville State, South Alabama and Tarleton State. After a four-point loss to Arizona, the Shockers beat UNLV and Missouri in their next pair. 

In the Missouri game, Wichita State held a 26-23 edge in the first half and a 35-32 advantage from there in a 61-55 win. Tyson Etienne led the way on 18 points with five rebounds, and Morris Udeze added 15 points with five boards. 

Over on the OK State side, they beat TX-Arlington in their opener before a 56-55 loss to Oakland in game two. Since then it’s been wins over Prairie View, UMass Lowell, NC State, Charleston and Oral Roberts for the Cowboys. 

In the victory over Oral Roberts, Oklahoma State was outscored 41-38 in the second half and needed overtime to secure the 78-77 result. Bryce Williams was the team’s top scorer on 21 points, six rebounds and three assists. 

OK State is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 at home and 13-5 ATS in their last 18 overall. The Cowboys are 1-5 ATS in their last six Wednesday games. 

Meanwhile, the Shockers are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 road games and the over is 4-1 in their last five after an ATS win. The under is 7-2 in Wichita State’s last nine overall. 

PICK: I’m going to try Wichita State here. This could be something of a coin flip, though. The Shockers weren’t exactly electric on the scoreboard versus Missouri in their last game, but still came up with 46.9 percent shooting, 41 rebounds and six blocks. It’s been three pretty close games in a row for Wichita State. 

As for Oklahoma State, they shot 42.3 percent from the field with 51 rebounds against Oral Roberts, but hit just 2-of-16 (12.5 percent) from 3-point range. This one has the makings of another high-scoring game, and I like the Shockers to eke out a cover.
