Northern Colorado vs Montana 12/4/21 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Montana Grizzlies and the Northern Colorado Bears meet Saturday in college basketball action from Bank of Colorado Arena. Montana is 4-1 in their last five games and fresh off a win over Sacramento State. As for Northern Colorado, they’re 1-4 in their last five and coming off a victory versus Montana State. Montana started out at just 1-2 this year with losses to Mississippi State and North Dakota. Since then the Grizzlies are 4-1 with a loss to Oregon alongside wins over Omaha, UC San Diego, Southern Miss and Sac State. 

In the Thursday game versus Sacramento State, the Grizzlies posted 31 points in the first half and 34 more in the second during a 65-58 win. Robby Beasley led the team with 13 points, and Brandon Whitney posted 12 points with two rebounds and two assists. 

Over on the Northern Colorado side, they had a 3-1 run to start the year with wins over Pacific, Hawaii and Colorado College. Four losses to Texas, Cal Baptist, San Jose State and Colorado State came before a win over Montana State. 

In the Thursday matchup against Montana State, Northern Colorado needed overtime to get the victory. The Bears outscored the Bobcats 13-11 in OT for the 77-75 result. Daylen Kountz finished on 21 points with seven rebounds. 

The over is 7-2 in the Bears’ last nine at home and 4-1 in their last five Saturday games. The over is 5-2 in Northern Colorado’s last seven after a straight-up win.
Meanwhile, Montana is 1-4 ATS in their last five road games and 2-9 ATS in their last 11 after an ATS win. The Grizzlies are 4-1 ATS in their last five overall. 

PICK: I’m going to stick with Montana. The Grizzlies have had a couple of relative scoring duds in their last two games, with 112 combined points in that pair. That said, Montana has scored relatively well in most of their games so far, with 68 or more points in five of eight outings. 

As for the Bears, they got a nice win over a pesky Montana State team in their last outing which stopped the bleeding on the losing streak. Northern Colorado has hit 70 or more points in each of their last four, so I like this one to be a high-scoring and competitive game.
