Princeton vs Drexel 12/4/21 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Drexel Dragons and the Princeton Tigers meet Saturday in college basketball action from Jadwin Gym. Drexel is 2-1 in their last three outings and coming off a win over Fairleigh Dickinson. Drexel posted a 2-2 run over their first four games, beating Neumann and Saint Joseph’s while otherwise falling to Syracuse and Tulane. Since then it’s been a loss to Jacksonville State between wins over Charlotte and Fairleigh Dickinson. 

In the FDU matchup on Thursday, Drexel jumped out to a 38-30 edge at the break and took it even further from there in an 86-65 blowout win. Tops in scoring was James Butler with 25 points and 14 rebounds for the Dragons. 

Over on the Princeton side, they managed wins over Rutgers-Camden and South Carolina before a loss to Minnesota in game three. The Tigers are 3-2 since then with wins over Marist, Oregon State and Fairleigh Dickinson alongside losses to Monmouth and Hofstra. 

Princeton trailed Hofstra 50-34 after one half but made a game of it from there. The Tigers rallied for a 43-31 edge in the second but ultimately fell 81-77. Jaelin Llewellyn led the team on 24 points with four rebounds and two assists. 

Princeton is 15-7 ATS in their last 22 overall and 7-2 ATS in their last nine Saturday games. The Tigers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven after an ATS loss. 

Meanwhile, the Dragons are 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 after an ATS win and 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 overall. Drexel is 5-0 ATS in their last five Saturday games. 

PICK: I’m going to try Drexel here, so long as they can get going on the scoreboard. Drexel has hit 78 or more points in four of their seven games so far this year, going 3-1 in those matchups. The 86 points against Fairleigh Dickinson was their third-highest total of the season. 

As for the Tigers, they had a bad first half against Hofstra but nearly pulled off the unlikely comeback in the second half. This should be an interesting matchup, but I like the Dragons to get in there on a cover if they get to shooting well early.
