Georgetown led by a 36-31 margin at halftime and was able to hold Longwood for the much-needed victory after taking an 85-79 lead with 1:19 left in regulation. Georgetown shot 45.0% from the field & 43.5% from beyond the arc while allowing Georgetown to shoot 48.3% from the field & 37.5% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Hoyas was Aminu Mohammed who had a double-double with 15 points, 11 rebounds, 1 block, & 3 steals.

The South Carolina Gamecocks had their 4-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 5-2 on the season after being defeated by the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, 80-56, this past Wednesday. South Carolina trailed by a just a 36-35 margin at halftime, however, the Gamecocks were dominated on both ends of the court throughout the 2nd half and could not fight back after Coastal Carolina took a 60-39 lead with 12:33 left in the 2nd half. South Carolina shot just 28.6% from the field & 23.3% from beyond the arc while allowing Coastal Carolina to shoot 42.1% from the field & 27.8% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Gamecocks was Jacobi Wright who had 11 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, & 1 steal.

On the season, South Carolina is allowing their opponents to average 69.6 ppg on 40.8% shooting from the field. The Gamecocks are averaging 7.1 three-pointers per game on 31.2% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, South Carolina has been led by Jermaine Couisnard (13.5 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 2.2 apg, 1.2 spg), Erik Stevenson (13.1 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.4 apg, 2.0 spg, 1.0 bpg), Keyshawn Bryant (11.5 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 1.5 apg, 1.0 spg, 2.5 bpg), & Wildens Leveque (9.9 ppg, 7.1 rpg).

The Hoyas are 10-5 ATS in their last 15 December games, however, are just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games. The Gamecocks are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Sunday games, however, are just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Sunday games.

Georgetown comes into this game ranked 157th in scoring offense, however, the Hoyas have struggled defensively and currently rank just 222nd in scoring defense & 206th in defensive FG%. South Carolina has struggled a bit on the offensive end, ranking just 223rd in scoring offense, however the defense has been solid, ranking 134th in scoring defense & 60th in defensive FG%.

Georgetown is coming off a solid win, however, this is still a Hoyas team whose best win comes against Siena and is still the team that lost at home to Dartmouth by a 69-60 margin. South Carolina was without Jermaine Couisnard due to a muscle strain, however, I expect him to be back in the lineup for this one and as I think the South Carolina defense gives Georgetown trouble on their home court, I think the play here is to take South Carolina to cover. Good Luck!
