The North Carolina Tar Heels and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets meet in ACC college basketball action from the McCamish Pavilion on Sunday.

The North Carolina Tar Heels will look to add to their 72-51 win over Michigan last time out. Caleb Love leads UNC in scoring and assists with 16.1 PPG and 4.1 APG while Armando Bacot has 15 PPG with a team-high 9.4 RPG as NC’s top rebounder. Brady Manek has 14 PPG with 6.1 RPG and R.J. Davis has 13 PPG with 3.6 APG and Dawson Garcia has 11.1 PPG with 6.1 RPG to make up the group of double-digit scorers for North Carolina so far this season. As a team, North Carolina is averaging 81.6 PPG on 48.3% shooting from the field, 41.5% from three and 73.9% from the foul line while allowing 74.7 PPG on 43.2% shooting from the field and 32.9% from three this season.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will try to bounce back from a 70-66 loss to Wisconsin in their last game. Michael Devoe leads the Yellow Jackets in scoring and assists with 25 PPG and 4.1 APG with 5.7 RPG while Jordan Usher has 14.3 PPG with a team-high 7.7 RPG as the only other double-digit scorer for Georgia Tech so far this season. Rodney Howard also has 8.6 PPG and 7 RPG as well this season. As a team, Georgia Tech is averaging 74.4 PPG on 48.3% shooting from the field, 40.7% from three and 66.4% from the foul line while allowing 66.7 PPG on 41.9% shooting from the field and 29% from three this season.

North Carolina is 1-7-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall and 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600. Georgia Tech is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a loss while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 Sunday games.

I get the case that could be made for both sides here as both have been terrible ATS this season. However, this just feels like a spot where North Carolina finds a way to get right. Georgia Tech may be a tournament team from last year nad have the best players on the floor in Devoe and Usher, but I just think that North Carolina has the better team across the board and as such, I’ll lay the points with them on the road here.
