The Cornell Big Red and the Virginia Tech Hokies meet in college hoops action from cAssell Coliseum on Wednesday night.

The Cornell Big Red will be looking to add to their 122-64 win over subdivision Keuka College last time out. Jordan Jones leads the Big Red in scoring with 14 PPG along with 3.3 RPG while Keller Boothby has 10 PPG with 4.8 RPG to make up the pair of double-digit scorers for Cornell so far this season. Sarju Patel and Chris Manon each have 9.7 PPG while Kobe Dickson has team-highs of 6.6 RPG and 3.7 APG as well this season. As a team, Cornell is averaging 91.2 PPG on 50.4% shooting from the field, 38.5% from three and 65.7% from the foul line while allowing 72.3 PPG on 38.2% shooting from the field and 29.3% from three this season.

The Virginia Tech Hokies could use a win after losing three of their last four games following an 80-61 loss to Wake Forest last time out. Keve Aluma leads the Hokies in scoring with 14.2 PPG along with 6.6 RPG while Nahiem Alleyne has 11.9 PPG with 3.8 RPG and 2.8 APG and Justyn Mutts has 10.3 PPG with team-highs of 7 RPG and 3 APG to make up the trio of double-digit scorers for Virginia Tech so far this season. As a team, Virginia Tech is averaging 69.2 PPG on 45.2% shooting from the field, 39.1% from three and 71.9% from the foul line while allowing 56.3 PPG on 40.2% shooting from the field and 23.4% from three this season.

Cornell is 8-0 ATS in their last 8 games overall and 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games as an underdog while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 road games against a team with a winning home record. Virginia Tech is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games as a favorite while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall.

I get the case that could be made for either side here as Virginia Tech’s played the tougher schedule but they’re also struggling coming into this game and have had offensive issues. Cornell’s played a softer schedule so it makes the 7-0 ATS record look impressive but it’s hard to know if it’s going to stand up here. I’ll lean towards the Big Red and the points as I think it’s just a case of too many points being given up by the Hokies here but other than that, not a game I’m rushing to bet.
