The UConn Huskies and the West Virginia Mountaineers meet in college basketball action from the WVU Coliseum on Wednesday night.

The UConn Huskies will look to build on their 88-59 win over Grambling State last time out. R.J. Cole leads the Huskies in scoring with 16.3 PPG as well as in assists with 4.4 APG while Adama Sanogo has 15.6 PPG with 6.3 RPG. Tyrese Martin has 12.9 PPG with a team-high 7.7 RPG to lead UConn on the glass while Tyler Polley has 10 PPG to make up the group of double-digit scorers for UConn up to this point in the season. As a team, UConn is averaging 85.9 PPG on 45.2% shooting from the field, 37.9% from three and 75.1% from three while allowing 62.6 PPG on 37.2% shooting from the field and 31.4% from three this season.

The West Virginia Mountaineers will look to add to their 67-51 win over Radford last time out. Taz Sherman leads the Mountaineers in scoring and assists with 21 PPG and 3.2 APG while Sean McNeil has 12 PPG to make up the pair of double-digit scorers for West Virginia up to this point in the season. Jalen Bridges also has 8.5 PPG with a team-high 5 RPG to lead the Mountaineers on the glass as well this season. As a team, West Virginia is averaging 72.4 PPG on 45.3% shooting from the field, 30.2% from three and 64.5% from the foul line while allowing 63 PPG on 45% shooting from the field and 34.4% from three this season.

UConn is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following an ATS win and 8-1 ATS in their last 9 Wednesday games while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall. West Virginia is 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games overall and 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games overall while the over is 19-6-1 in their last 26 games against a team with a team with a winning percentage above .600.

I get the case that could be made either way here, but I’m going to side with the under which sounds weird considering the talent on both sides. The thing is that UConn has been held in check against their step up opposition while West Virginia has a renewed emphasis on defense this season. I think this is an under when all is said and done, so give me the under in this one.
