Brown vs Vermont 12/10/21 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Vermont Catamounts and the Brown Bears meet in college basketball action from the Pizzitola Sports Center on Friday night.

The Vermont Catamounts will look to bounce back from a 68-58 loss at the hands of Providence last time out. Ryan Davis leads the Catamounts in scoring with 17 PPG while Ben Shungu has 13.5 PPG and a team-high 2.3 APG and Isaiah Powell’s got 11 PPG with a team-high 6.9 RPG to lead Vermont on the glass and the round out the trio of double-digit scorers for Vermont up to this point in the season. As a team, Vermont is averaging 64.6 PPG on 43.1% shooting from the field, 26.6% from three and 72.9% from the foul line while allowing 58.8 PPG on 39.4% shooting from the field and 30.6% from three this season.

The Brown Bears will look to add to their four-game winning streak after a 76-56 win over Merrimack last time out. Kino Lilly Jr. leads the Bears in scoring with 12.3 PPG as well as 2.3 APG while Dan Friday has 10.4 PPG and a team-high 2.7 APG as well this season. Paxson Wojcik has 10.2 PPG to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Brown up to this point in the season while Tamenang Choh has 9.9 PPG and a team-high 7.8 RPG up to this point in the season. As a team, Brown is averaging 73.5 PPG on 43.5% shooting from the field, 32.1% from three point range and 74.8% from the foul line while allowing 63.5 PPG on 42.2% shooting from the field and 31.9% from three this season.

This line does feel a bit funny to me as we’re getting a free point with the better home team against a Vermont team that, while I’ve been high on them this season, have struggled offensively at times and I’m just not looking to back that long term, especially if that’s how the results continue to hold up. Brown has had an easier time as of late, but the step up spots have seen the Bears show up and I think they show up here. Give me Brown at home in this one.
