The Long Island Sharks and the Fordham Rams meet in college basketball action from Rose Hill Gym on Thursday night.

The Long Island Sharks will look to bounce back from a 72-63 loss at the hands of Towson in their last game. Eral Penn leads the Sharks in scoring with 14.4 PPG and 6.3 RPG while Ty Flowers has 14.4 PPG of his own along with 5.1 RPG and a team-high 2.1 APG to lead the Sharks in assists. Isaac Kante’s got 12 PPG and a team-high 8.3 RPG to make up the trio of double-digit scorers for LIU as the Sharks’ top rebounder. As a team, LIU is averaging 65 PPG on 39% shooting from the field, 29% from three and 69% from the foul line while allowing 78.7 PPG on 44.7% shooting from the field and 30.2% from three this season.

The Fordham Rams will look to bounce back from an 83-69 loss to St. John’s last time out. Antonio Daye Jr. leads the Rams in scoring with 18.1 PPG and in assists with 2.8 APG while Darius Quisenberry has 17 PPG with 4.6 RPG and Chuba Ohams has 13.9 PPG with a team-high 11.9 RPG, averaging a double-double per game to lead the Rams on the glass and cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Fordham up to this point in the season. As a team, Fordham is averaging 73.8 PPG on 42.1% shooting from the field, 30.8% from three and 72.8% from the foul line while allowing 69.6 PPG on 42.5% shooting from the field and 31.3% from three this season.

Long Island is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following a loss while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 road games. Fordham is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a loss and 4-12 ATS in their last 16 home games against a team with a losing road record while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall.

I get the case to be made either way here, but ultimately, I’m siding with the under here. I envision this being a first to 60 wins kind of game if we even get to that point. I think that the offenses could struggle and may end up making the defenses look a lot better than they actually are. Give me the under here.
